Story of Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima marks the birth of Ved Vyasa, the sage who compiled the Vedas, authored the Mahabharata, and wrote the 18 Puranas. Veda Vyas is revered as the Adi Guru (original teacher) in Hindu tradition. The day is also known as Vyasa Purnima in his honor.

The significance of Guru Purnima lies in its recognition of the invaluable role played by Gurus in shaping individuals spiritually, intellectually, and morally. It is a time when disciples offer their respects, seek blessings, and reflect on the teachings that have been imparted to them. On Guru Purnima, Vishesha puja seva is being offered to Shri Shirdi Sai Baba & Shri Guru Dattatreya at a temple in South India. The sevas will begin at dawn with Khakadarati followed by Maha Abhisheka, Alankara, Choti Aarti, AND there will be Aparahna  Aarti at Noon and Dhooparati in the evening and concluded by Sheshaarti in the night, amidst chantings & Bhajans.
