Divine Story, Benefits, and Sacred Sevas of this Auspicious Puja

Auspicious Tuesdays for Bhagwan Shri Subrahmanya Worship

Tuesdays hold special divine energy for worshipping Bhagwan Shri Subrahmanya (Kartikeya / Skanda / Murugan / Shanmukha / Shanmugha) - the remover of all serpentine afflictions and karmic doshas. Known as the Deva Senapati, He blesses devotees with courage, health, family harmony, and liberation from unseen planetary blockages.

Those born under the influence of Naga Dosh, Rahu Dosh, or Kuja (Mangal) Dosha are especially advised to perform Subrahmanya Seva on Tuesdays to gain relief and restore positivity in life.

Significance & Benefits of Tuesday Seva to Bhagwan Subrahmanya:

  • Relief from Naga & Rahu Dosha: Removes obstacles caused by serpentine karma and planetary afflictions.
  • Pacifies Kuja Dosha: Harmonizes marital life, reduces aggression, and balances energy.
  • Spiritual Upliftment: Grants inner strength, clarity, and focus on righteous action (dharma).
  • Karma Cleansing: Purifies ancestral and personal karmas, bringing peace and prosperity.
  • Blessings for Progress: Opens new doors for career, family harmony, and spiritual growth.

Kuja (Mangal) Dosha Nivaran

Bhagwan Subrahmanya governs the fiery energy of Mars (Mangal Graha). When this energy turns malefic, it can bring conflicts, delayed marriage, health issues, and instability in relationships or profession.

  • Remedy: Offer Daan of red cloth and red lentils (Masoor dal) at Shri Subrahmanya Temple on Tuesdays.
  • Significance: These offerings symbolically pacify the aggressive Mars energy and invoke the Shri Kartikeya blessings for peace, balance, and favourable partnerships.
  • Guidance: The intensity of Kuja Dosha differs from person to person. Hence, it’s ideal to have one’s horoscope checked. If the dosha is strong, customised Parihara Pujas or Homams are recommended for complete relief and prosperity.

Naga Dosha Nivaran

Naga Dosha arises due to karmic imbalances related to serpent energy, often linked to ancestral deeds or neglected worship of serpent deities. It can manifest as obstacles in marriage, progeny, or financial progress.

  • Remedy: Performing Sarpa Samskara / Naga Pratishta / Ashlesha Bali or Subrahmanya Abhisheka Seva on Tuesdays and during the month of Kartika is highly beneficial.
  • Significance: Bhagwan Subrahmanya is regarded as Nagottama, the Supreme among serpent deities. His worship cleanses serpent-related karmas, ensuring peace to ancestors and prosperity to the devotee.
  • Guidance: Those experiencing repeated stagnation, unexplained health or family hurdles are advised to perform Naga Dosha Parihara Seva after astrological consultation.

Rahu Dosha Nivaran

Rahu Dosha causes confusion, anxiety, illusions, and sudden reversals in life due to the influence of shadow planets. Bhagwan Subrahmanya’s divine radiance helps dispel the darkness caused by Rahu’s energy.

  • Remedy: Regular Tuesday Archana / Milk Abhisheka / Rahu-Shanti Homa to Shri Subrahmanya brings clarity, stability, and relief from mental unrest.
  • Significance: The Lord’s worship pacifies Rahu’s obsessive energy and aligns the devotee’s mind with wisdom, courage, and spiritual focus.
  • Guidance: If Rahu’s placement is severe, one should undertake specific Rahu-Shanti or Sarpa Dosha Nivaran rituals under guidance of priests and astrologers.

However, since the impact of Rahu / Naga / Kuja Dosha varies based on each individual’s horoscope, it is advisable to consult an experienced astrologer to understand the degree of affliction.

  • If the dosha is mild, regular Tuesday worship and simple offerings bring significant relief.
  • If the dosha is intense, customised Parihara Pujas or Homams guided by one’s horoscope are strongly recommended to attain complete dosha shanti and blessings for marital harmony, stability, and success.

Detailed Seva Description

The Shri Subrahmanya Seva is a sacred Tuesday ritual performed to invoke the divine grace of Bhagwan Subrahmanya, also known as Kartikeya, Skanda, or Muruga, the eternal warrior of Dharma and remover of Sarpa Dosha. Every step in this seva carries deep spiritual meaning and connects the devotee with divine energy, courage, and wisdom.

Below are the sacred rituals performed as part of this auspicious seva:

  1. Panchamrut Abhisheka: The seva begins with the holy Panchamrut Abhisheka, where Bhagwan Subrahmanya is bathed with five sacred elements - milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar. Each ingredient represents purity, nourishment, and balance of the five elements (Pancha Mahabhuta). This ritual cleanses the aura of the devotee and invokes divine protection.
  2. Maha Haridhrabhisheka: Next comes the powerful Maha Haridhrabhisheka, the ritual bath with turmeric water. Turmeric is a symbol of divine healing and auspiciousness. Offering it to Bhagwan Muruga removes negative vibrations, ancestral curses, and planetary doshas, especially Sarpa Dosha and Kuja Dosha. It blesses devotees with good health, courage, and positivity.
  3. Vishesha Haridhra Alankara or Pushpaalankara: After the abhisheka, Bhagwan Subrahmanya is beautifully adorned either with sacred turmeric paste (Haridhra Alankara) or fragrant flowers (Pushpaalankara). This alankara represents the devotee’s pure love and surrender to the divine. It is believed that seeing Bhagwan decorated in this form brings inner peace, joy, and spiritual growth.
  4. Vishesha Pushpa-patra Archana: In this archana, special flowers and leaves such as Bilwa, Champaka, Kanagale, and other sacred varieties dear to Bhagwan Shanmukha are offered while chanting His 108 or 1008 divine names. Each flower represents a prayer, and each leaf symbolizes surrender. This archana invokes divine blessings to remove karmic debts and ensure spiritual progress.
  5. Pushpamala Samarpan to Mata Shri Valli & Mata Devasena: The seva continues with offering Pushpamala (flower garlands) to Mata Shri Valli and Mata Devasena, the divine consorts of Bhagwan Subrahmanya. This offering symbolizes harmony, love, and divine balance in relationships. It helps devotees overcome conflicts and experience peace and understanding in family life.
  6. Mangalaarti: The Mangalaarti is then performed with devotion and sacred mantras, filling the surroundings with divine vibration. The light of the aarti represents the eternal flame of knowledge that removes darkness and ignorance. Devotees bow to this light, seeking inner strength and guidance from Bhagwan.
  7. Daan Offering of Red Lentils, Red Flowers, Red Cloth & Dakshina: The seva concludes with the Daan offering, a symbolic act of surrender and gratitude. Devotees offer red lentils, red flowers, red cloth, and Dakshina to Shri Subrahmanya Temple. The color red represents power, protection, and divine energy. This offering helps balance Mars (Mangal) energy in one’s horoscope, promoting courage, confidence, and success in actions.

Through these sacred rituals, Shri Subrahmanya Seva removes inner fears, neutralizes negative planetary influences, and blesses the devotee with victory, prosperity, and spiritual clarity. It is especially beneficial for those facing obstacles, health issues, Sarpa Dosha, or lack of confidence in life.

By performing this seva every Tuesday, devotees invite the divine presence of Bhagwan Subrahmanya into their lives, a presence that uplifts, protects, and guides them on the path of Dharma and light.
