1. Initiation with Mantra Chanting: The ritual begins with the chanting of the Sudarshana Mantra Jaap/Japa/Japam, which sets the spiritual tone and invokes the presence of Bhagwan Shri Sudarshana.
2. Recitation of Sudarshana Ashtottara Shatanamavali: The priest recites 108 names of Shri Sudarshana, starting with "Sudarsanaya Namaha" and concluding with "Narayana Krupa Vyuha Tejas Chakraya Namaha". Each name praises a different aspect of the deity's divine power.
3. Sankalpa – The Sacred Resolution: The devotee then takes the Sri Sudarshana Homa Maha Sankalpa, a solemn vow in which the deities are invoked and requested to bestow their blessings and protection for the specific purpose of the Homam.
